Pat Bagley

Pat Bagley, 50, is an award-winning editorial cartoonist from Utah—the
same state, by the way, that gave us Karl Rove and handed Bush his
greatest margin of victory in 2004. By way of apology, Bagley penned the
popular Curious George parody, Clueless George Goes to War! (White Horse
2005), which has over 20,000 copies in print. He now presents the second
volume in the series, Clueless George is Watching You! (White Horse, July
2006), which takes on the recent domestic spying controversy.

Bagley grew up with politics. His father was mayor of a booming seaside
community in southern California. As part of a high school civics class,
Bagley once participated in a PBS interview with Ronald Reagan. He
received his degree from Brigham Young University in political science and
history.

In 1977, Bagley’s first cartoon for the college paper was picked up by
Time. A few years later, he was featured in People as one of America’s
leading editorial cartoonists. Since then, his work has appeared in papers
such as The Los Angeles Times, The Guardian of London, The Wall Street
Journal, The National Review, The Week, and Daryl Cagle’s anthology, The
Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year.

Hired by The Salt Lake Tribune in 1979, Bagley's daily editorial cartoons
can be seen on sltrib.com and Cagle.com, the world’s most popular
political cartoon site. He is syndicated throughout the country in
hundreds of daily newspapers.

Bagley has also authored and illustrated several best-selling children’s
books, including Dinosaurs of Utah, and the Mormon-themed I Spy a Nephite,
which has more than 100,000 copies in print.

Bagley currently lives in Salt Lake City with his two sons, Miles and
Alec, and their dog, Balto (he's the one with the collar pictured left).
